Patrick Astoul founded and publishes The Dry Glass. He is responsible for the publication’s editorial standards, source checks, updates, and stated limits.

The premise

You should not need ten bottles, a professional bar kit, or a pretend tasting panel to make a useful choice. The Dry Glass connects documented product information to a real task: one recipe, one dinner, one gift, or one small gathering.

What we treat as evidence

Primary sources come first for simple, checkable facts: an exact bottle size, a stated alcohol percentage, a Nutrition Facts panel, a published recipe, or a regulator’s wording. Brand descriptions remain attributed. Editorial calculations show their assumptions. If a fact is missing, it stays unknown.

What we do not claim

We do not physically test products, conduct tastings, create a fictional test kitchen, prescribe nutrition or medical choices, or convert a marketing phrase into a result. We can explain what a label states, calculate what a published pour yields, and say where the evidence stops.

How updates work

We record source checks internally and revise a guide when its evidence or conclusion changes. When a product label, serving, formula, regulation, or primary source changes, older information should be checked again before its conclusion is repeated. A publication date alone is not evidence that every outside detail still applies.

Commercial independence

There are no affiliate links active on The Dry Glass today. If future commercial relationships exist, they will be disclosed beside the relevant recommendation. A commission will not turn a brand claim into a fact or buy a higher editorial position.

The boundary

This is not a medical resource, a sobriety program, or a product laboratory. It is a source-based drinks publication with explicit limits and practical judgment.
